If you are a contractor, you probably have a general liability policy and coverage for your tools and trucks, but there are important types of insurance that are often overlooked. Building and renovating poses a lot of risk to you and your assets, so
A certificate of insurance is a document that provides verification to third parties that an individual or entity has insurance coverage.
I rarely (virtually never) give a rating of ten out of ten, but this is one case where an exception proves the rule. Tonry Insurance has consistently demonstrated the type of commitment to service that has become all-too-rare in today's business climate. They have maintained the time-honored practice of doing what they say they will do, when they say they will do it. Everyone I have ever interacted with, whether live or electronically, has conducted themselves with courtesy and professionalism.
Prime Steel has been in business for almost 50 years. A significant number of those years we have been a client of Tonry's. I believe that everyone at Tonry has Prime's best interest in mind at all times. Even if it means telling us we don't need to carry certain limits that it is just a waste of money. Over the years the knowledge from Tonry Insurance Group has saved Prime Steel a lot of money and certainly puts Prime's key Personnel at ease in many circumstances. Audit questions/ prep / incidents/ claims etc. The attention we get from Tonry Ins Grp even when it is last minute is very much appreciated.
Been thru thick and thin are we are both still here!! Great people. You can get insurance anywhere but its the people that make it happen. Thanks Again, John McNulty”
We have known Lou for many years. His company always treated me and my family with respect. Tonry Insurance consistently tries to find savings on all my insurance needs. Now that my sons are married and homeowners, they also are insured with Tonry. We wouldn't think of going elsewhere.

Amy Nelson and Kris Bibbo have been great to me over the years. They always send kind emails and make sure all policies are in place with the right coverage for all my needs. Even if I disagree with an audit resulting in additional fees they make me feel comfortable that they will look into it and help understand the situation rather than dismissing me and not caring. That's very important and why all my insurance policies are with you.”
“Everyone has been so helpful with my questions or problems. I appreciate the personal attention I receive whenever I call the office. Thank you for your outstanding service..”

“Extremely responsive. Replying to email questions within hours, not days. Always willing to get on a call. Insurance issues are explained simply and clearly. Will definitely stick with Tonry insurance for my homeowners insurance needs.”
Kris Bibbo, our rep from Tonry in Lexington is an amazing source of information and connections. She made the purchase and registration of an out-of-state vehicle a very easy process. The way she managed things made us 100% sure that switching over to this office was the right thing to do. I'd recommend her to anybody and everybody.

Insureds commonly associate audits with workers’ compensation insurance, but general liability policies may also be subject to audit. While this is disclosed when the policy is issued, some business owners may not realize that audits can apply to their general liability coverage. The focus is different from workers’ compensation, but the purpose is similar: to ensure the information used to calculate premiums reflects how a business operated during a policy term.
For contractors, workers’ compensation audits are a routine part of doing business—but they can still lead to unexpected premium changes if you’re not prepared. Because contracting operations often involve fluctuating payrolls, subcontractors, and multiple job types, audits tend to focus heavily on documentation, payroll details, and job classifications. Find out how we can help you avoid surprises.
Have you ever compared your home insurance premium to a neighbor’s and wondered why the numbers don’t match? Or maybe you’ve gathered multiple quotes and noticed a big difference in price from one company to another. You’re not imagining things—home insurance isn’t one-size-fits-all. Understanding six primary factors that go into your premium can help you make better decisions, compare policies more effectively, and know where you may have opportunities to save.
