DCAMM and Electronic Bid Bonds
DCAMM accepts electronic bid bonds through two secure vendors; Surety 2000 (Surety2000.com) and SuretyWave (SuretyWave.com). We use Surety 2000
as it seems to be the easiest for contractors.
To use Surety 2000, please register prior to your first bid bond request at https://dashboard.surety2000.com/#/register. There is an annual fee for the contractor, we have to pay one, and your surety pays one too. The contractor annual fee is $480.00, and you will need to pay the fee when you fill out the registration.
Once you have completed the registration, notify us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will associate your account with the proper surety company to enable bid bond transmission. Your account ID is your Federal EIN. Surety2000 will assign an account number. Your registration with Surety 2000 is good for all States who require electronic bids.
We also need to know your DCAMM E-Bid Room/Bid Express Contractor ID Number. This can be found in the Business Information section of your My Profile tab. Requesting a bid bond for a DCAMM project is the same as you would normally request a bid bond from us. You will however need an authorization number to complete each individual project which will be supplied electronically prior to the bid. You will not be able to complete and submit your bid to DCAMM without it.
If you are not opting to use the e-Bond process with DCAMM, Paper Bid Bonds will continue to be accepted. Bidders submitting paper bid bonds will continue to be required to scan and attach their bid bond/bank check with their electronic bid submission and submit their original bid bond/bank check to DCAMM immediately following the Bid opening.
